MawaqeetالعربيةMawaqeet is a prayer-times app for iPhone and a website at mawaqeet.app. We don't collect your personal data. This policy explains what the app uses, where it goes, and why.
The short version
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- Prayer times and the Qibla are calculated on your iPhone.
- Your settings stay on your iPhone.
- The app sends nothing to us. The website's weather service receives only the rounded coordinates of the place it shows, and keeps nothing about you.
- We never sell or share your data.
Location
Mawaqeet asks for your location while you use the app, to calculate prayer times, the Qibla direction and the sky for where you are. Your location is used on your iPhone and is not sent to us.
- City search. If you search for a city instead, your search text is sent to Apple Maps to find it.
- Weather. To show the weather on the sky, the app asks Apple Weather for the conditions at your location. Apple receives that location to answer. Apple's handling is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
- You can turn location off at any time in the iPhone's Settings and choose a city by hand.
Notifications
Prayer reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. There is no notification server and nothing about your prayers leaves the device.
Settings and the daily line
Your choices (language, calculation method, adjustments, sounds) and a short memory that stops the top line from repeating are stored on your iPhone only. Deleting the app deletes them.
Tips and monthly support
Tips and monthly support are optional in-app purchases handled entirely by Apple. We don't receive your name, payment details or Apple Account.
The website
mawaqeet.app uses no cookies and no analytics. It shows Riyadh by default.
- Choosing a place. You can pick another city from the list, or tap "Use my location". Your browser asks your permission first, and the page uses your position only to show prayer times, the sky and the weather for that place. Your chosen city is remembered in your browser; your location is not stored.
- Weather. To show the weather, the page asks our own weather service for the forecast at the place shown. It sends only that place's coordinates: a listed city's centre, or your position rounded to about 11 km if you used your location. Our service gets the forecast from MET Norway (the Norwegian Meteorological Institute) without passing on anything about you, and keeps only the forecast, for a short time.
- Like any website, the hosting service may keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) for security for a short time.
Children
Mawaqeet is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
